What is Vertical Milling Machine?
Why it is called so? Because the spindle in this type of machines is oriented vertically. It rotates about an axis of rotation which is in the vertical direction. The spindle or cutting head can be moved vertically up and down. The bed of the milling machine can be moved in a horizontal and vertical plane. By these movements, the object to be milled can be brought close to milling cutter.
